| Turns out last year's match-up against Princeton comes in handy, as the experience against a deliberate, back-door happy offense showed. The score was tied at 7 six minutes into the game when U of L reeled off a 16-4 run to built a 12-point lead. In the run, the Cards at one point made fix of six shots; Luke Whitehead, who finished the game with 17 points and eight rebounds, hit a three-pointer and scored on a lay-up to highlight the run. The Cards shot over 50% in the first half to take a 31-20 lead into halftime. Although U of L didn't shoot as well in the second half, they were able to keep turnovers down, and take over on the glass. U of L almost doubled up the Falcons on the boards, with the Cards collecting 39 rebounds to only 20 for Air Force. Ellis Myles was the Cards' man on the glass, pulling down 16 rebounds. | |
| The Cards led 48-32 with 9:38 left in the ball game, but then went on to score only three more field goals the rest of the way. Reece Gaines scored most of his game-high 22 points in the late second half by shooting 7-8 from the line. U of L also was able to score 25 points off turnovers while limiting Air Force to only 11. | |
